Whether you’re in a relationship or not, Valentine’s Day can curve your plans and get you mindlessly overeating chocolate. Let me walk you through my best tips to prevent that from happening:
Tip 1: Be okay with passing on the candies:
Let’s face it, chocolate is everywhere on Valentine’s day! My best tip is to practice DINTEO (Do I Need This Eating Opportunity) by literally asking yourself this very question before reaching for those pink and red wrappers. Instead, try to eat something smart and controlled like a beach bar, a nut pack, or banana that is satisfying, yet purposeful.
TIP 2: Plan ahead for your romantic dinner
It is important to speak with your loved ones about what it means to celebrate the holiday. Keep in mind that it’s the quality time and eye contact that is just as special as the food. Some ideas for a nice Valentine’s meal might be a romantic breakfast with the 2B mindset banana egg pancakes or ordering a more sensible meal if going out. An example would be substituting a side starch for a double serving of veggies.
Tip 3: If you’re gonna eat chocolate…Make it worth it!!
One of my favorite ways to fulfill my chocolate craving is with a Beach Bar . They have only 150 calories, with 10g of protein and 4g of fiber, and are made of all natural ingredients. Try them today by ordering them here.
